Terms of Use

The agreement between you and Dovahzul Roleplay. It covers the server, the launcher, this site and our Discord.

1. Acceptance

By signing in, installing the launcher or playing on any Dovahzul Roleplay server, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The gameplay and roleplay rules published on our Discord complete these terms. Where the two conflict, the more specific rule applies.

2. Who we are

Dovahzul Roleplay is a non-profit fan project built on SkyMP, an open-source multiplayer mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. We are not affiliated with Bethesda Softworks, ZeniMax Media or Microsoft, and none of them endorses or maintains this project.

The server is non-profit. Nobody on the team profits from it: every bit of money that comes in goes to paying for the infrastructure, the maintenance and the support team that keep the server running.

The service is run in Portuguese, for the Brazilian community, but players from other countries are welcome as long as they follow these terms.

3. Requirements and account

To play you need a legitimate copy of Skyrim Special Edition or Anniversary Edition and a Discord account, which is how you sign in. You must be at least 18 years old.

The account is not yours: Dovahzul Roleplay lends it to you, free of charge and for an indefinite period, and it remains the project’s, as does everything in it. We may suspend or close any account at any time, at our discretion.

Your account is personal and cannot be transferred. You are responsible for everything that happens on it and for keeping your Discord account secure. Do not sell, lend or share your account, and do not use someone else’s.

4. Conduct

We want a place where telling stories is a pleasure. So the following is forbidden:

  • cheats, third-party programs, modified clients, macros or any tool that gives an unfair advantage;
  • exploiting bugs or flaws instead of reporting them to the team;
  • harassing, threatening, stalking or humiliating other players outside agreed roleplay;
  • hate speech, discrimination or glorifying crimes, in any channel, in or out of character;
  • any sexual content involving minors, without exception;
  • exposing someone else’s personal data or pretending to be staff;
  • selling, buying or trading accounts, characters, items or in-game currency for real money;
  • spam, unauthorised advertising and attacks on the server’s infrastructure;
  • evading a sanction by creating another account.

5. Roleplay

What your character does inside the story is fiction, and conflict between characters is part of the game. That does not allow attacks on the person behind the character. Staff may step into a scene when it breaks the rules, puts someone at risk or disrupts the server.

6. Characters, items and progress

Characters, items, gold, houses, horses, achievements and any other in-game progress are virtual content. You receive a personal, limited and revocable licence to use them within the service; they are not your property and have no monetary value.

The server is in alpha. To fix problems or balance the economy we may adjust, remove or reset characters, items and progress, including world-wide wipes. We announce these on Discord in advance whenever we can.

7. Patrons

Playing is and stays free. Anyone who wants to can contribute to the project and become a Patron. Every contribution goes entirely to the server’s infrastructure, maintenance and support team, and grants, for a set period, the benefits announced at the time of the contribution, such as exclusive horses, cosmetics and appearance or trade resets.

Nothing here is pay to win. We do our best to keep the game fair for everyone: Patron benefits are about style and convenience, and none of them buys power, items, gold or progress that a player who does not contribute cannot earn by playing. Extra chest space, for example, is only a shortcut: it can also be obtained in other ways in the game.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Benefits do not buy immunity from the rules: a sanctioned Patron is sanctioned like any other player. You may withdraw from a contribution within 7 days, as Brazil’s Consumer Defence Code provides. After that there are no refunds, including when the account is suspended or banned for breaking these terms. If the project ends, we will give notice and will not charge for new periods.

8. What you submit

Character names, messages, in-game photos and anything else you post remain yours. By submitting them you allow us to store and show them in the game, on the site and on our channels for as long as the service needs them.

You are responsible for what you post. We may remove, without notice, any content that breaks these terms, such as offensive names or inappropriate images.

9. The launcher and the mods

The launcher installs and maintains the server’s mod set in the Skyrim folder you choose. To do so it creates, replaces and removes files in that folder, sets the load order and, when needed, installs Microsoft’s Visual C++ Redistributable. We recommend a clean install and a backup of anything you want to keep.

The mods in the set belong to their authors, whom we credit. They are distributed only for use on Dovahzul Roleplay; do not redistribute them or use them elsewhere without the authors’ permission.

10. Moderation and sanctions

Depending on severity and repetition, staff may issue a warning, a mute, a kick, a temporary suspension or a permanent ban, or remove items, progress or characters obtained improperly. In serious cases a sanction may be immediate and without prior notice.

If you think a sanction was unfair, open a ticket on Discord. We review every appeal, but the final decision rests with the team.

11. Availability

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous operation. During the alpha, expect crashes, restarts, maintenance and occasional data loss. We may change, pause or end any part of the service at any time.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost progress, conflicts with other mods, damage to your Skyrim install or service downtime, nor for what other players say or do. Nothing in these terms limits rights Brazilian law grants you as a consumer.

13. Intellectual property

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and all related marks belong to their owners. The Dovahzul Roleplay name, visual identity, story, texts and the server’s original content belong to the project and may not be used commercially without permission.

14. Termination

You may stop using the service whenever you like and ask for your account to be deleted, as the Privacy Policy explains. On our side, because the account is lent to you, we may suspend or close it at any time, with or without notice, for breaking these terms or for any other reason, and we may end the service itself. This does not affect your right to withdraw as a Patron or other rights the law grants you as a consumer.

15. Changes

We may update these terms. Significant changes are announced on Discord and the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting the new version.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any dispute may be brought before the courts of your place of residence, as the Consumer Defence Code provides.

17. Contact

Questions about these terms, reports and appeals are handled by the team on our official Discord, through a ticket.

The alpha has started

The alpha gates are open.

Alpha access is granted on the Discord, which is also where the rules and the update and maintenance notices come out.
